WAAIV ("we", "the service") is an artificial intelligence service that checks whether an image was likely generated or edited by AI. When you interact with WAAIV — including over WhatsApp — you are talking to an AI system, not a human. This page explains what data we collect and how it is used. By using WAAIV, you agree to the practices described here.
Solely to provide the image-verification service: analyzing your image, storing the result so you can ask follow-up questions about it, and enforcing fair-use limits. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
To analyze an image, we send it to one or more third-party AI-detection providers. To generate a plain-language explanation of the result, we send the providers' output (and basic technical metadata extracted from the image, such as dimensions and EXIF data) to our AI language model provider. Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policy.
If you buy a scan pack, the payment is processed by Wompi (Grupo Bancolombia) under its own privacy policy (purchases before October 21, 2026: PayPal). We never receive or store your card or bank details. We keep only what is needed to deliver the scans, keep accounting records and prevent fraud: the package, amount, currency, status, the order and transaction identifiers, the provider's fee when reported, and the payment method, card brand and card country reported by the payment provider. Images, scan results, and chat messages are stored on secure cloud infrastructure, only for as long as needed to provide the service. We retain and delete this data in line with our internal retention policy, which follows current data protection regulations and market best practices. You can request earlier deletion at any time by contacting us (below).
Regardless of where you connect from, you may ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete your data before its automatic retention period ends.
WAAIV is intended only for lawful use. We prohibit, and firmly oppose, the submission of any content that is illegal under the laws that apply to you or to us, including, without limitation: any sexual or exploitative content involving minors; intimate or private images of a person shared without that person's consent; and any image you do not have the legal right or the required authorization to submit or to have analyzed. Submitting such content is a violation of this policy and may also be a crime.
By sending an image to WAAIV, by any channel, you confirm that you have read this policy, that you accept it, and that you have the legal right to submit that image. You are solely and fully responsible for every image you submit and for any civil, administrative, or criminal consequences arising from it, and, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to hold WAAIV harmless from any claim, penalty, or loss resulting from your submission. WAAIV does not review images before they are analyzed and does not endorse or take responsibility for the content users send. If we identify or are notified of content that appears to be illegal, we may, without prior notice, remove it, suspend access to the service, preserve related records, report it to the competent authorities, and cooperate with their investigations.
WAAIV is an early-stage project currently under active development. While every reasonable effort is made to handle data responsibly and in line with the principles set out in this policy, some operational and technical measures required for full compliance with the Meta Platform Terms, the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, and applicable data protection legislation in the jurisdictions our users connect from worldwide may still be in the process of being implemented as the service matures. We are committed to achieving and maintaining full compliance with all such policies and laws within a reasonable timeframe, and to updating this policy accordingly as those measures are put in place.
If you, a platform operator, or any regulatory authority identifies a concern, alleged non-compliance, or dispute relating to this service or this policy, we request that you first contact us directly at the email address below before pursuing any other action. We will make good-faith, prompt efforts to review, respond to, and, where warranted, remedy any such concern amicably and cooperatively.
